Friends of Cove Park
Friends
of Cove Park, an all-volunteer subcommittee of the Friends of Beverly
Recreation, was created to raise funds for the benefit of Cove Park,
aka Kimball-Haskell Park in Beverly, MA. Improvements to the park will include a
brand new play structure with exciting modern play elements, along with
improved seating and landscaping.
The current
wooden play structure is about 25 years old, with older steel
components that are over 50 years old. The wooden structure is
deteriorating badly. The ground cover has disappeared and the exposed
concrete footings at the steel structures can cause injuries. The
equipment is too old and out of compliance, and therefore cannot be
relocated. The new playground equipment will be ADA compliant.
